Also, a vet needs a clear head to diagnosis their patients. They should not be sleeping on night shift. I understand the graveyard shift sucks, but a vet needs all of their mental faculties to do their job and they will not have those faculties if they're waking up from REM sleep.
Very caring people. Best place for care when your pets are not being themselves.
Being a part of the EPH family for almost 4 years brings me great heartache that some people feel the way they do about this hospital. We have an amazing staff and many of the local Veterinarians are who help operate this facility. Every one who is employed there have made their careers helping animals because of a our passion and love. I The rules and regulations of EPH are not controlled by the staff. So when there is a case with financial hardships it bothers the staff just as much as the owners because our hands are tied. Do not listen to the negative reviews and judge us based on others opinions. We are a very loving and caring group of people who work nights and weekends to care for your pets. If you need an emergency Hospital for your pets, please do not hesitate to call the office.
We took our 17 year old dog there this morning to be put to sleep because did not want her to suffer another day until our vet's office was open on Monday. Everyone working there was caring and efficient and made this sad situation as easy as possible. It was done promptly and they gave us time to say goodbye. They also made arrangements for her to be picked up for cremation.
Great staff thanx to them watching my pup for the weekend while caring for his virus and with them helped save my dog's life.
I took my dog into this clinic because he wasn't putting weight on his right back leg. He appeared to be in pain, so we went there in the middle of the night. The nurse (for lack of a better word) there was very nice. However, the vet, Susan Lloyd, was not. She did not do any sort of ROM (range of motion) tests on him. She jumped straight to taking an x-ray of him. Now, I don't mind paying the big bucks to have an emergency vet take a look at him. However, jumping straight to an x-ray isn't the way to go. That leaves a couple possibilities, either she doesn't care, doesn't know any other way, or just wants to get money out her patient's owners. With the x-ray, she diagnosed it as the dog equivalent of a torn ACL. I honestly don't remember the actual name of the diagnosis (it was 4am when we took him), that was just what she compared it to. Anyone who does a quick google search could find out that an x-ray is not a way to get a definitive diagnosis of soft tissue injuries. Soft tissue injuries do not show up on an x-ray definitively. I would recommend people take their pets anywhere but here, unless their pet has a life and death injury. Wait and take your pet to your regular vet the next day or later in the day. Most vets will squeeze in an appointment if there is an injury or illness involved.
